Maps present the toponymic landscape of Teschen/Cieszyn/Český Těšín in different periods starting with late 19th-century and ending in the present. Each map shows the toponymic landscape observable at the end of the analyzed period, after the implementation of all changes. Some streets were changed several times during some periods, but such changes are not presented. Maps 10 and 11 indicate overall changes during all periods.
Street names relevant for each period are presented against the background of current city plan to make orientation easier. In reality, many buildings, streets and intersections did not exist at the time and many streets were shorter or followed a slightly different direction (and were moved or straightened out later). This, however, does not significantly affect the observed toponymic transformations and their spatial location and extent. Our maps should therefore be read as accurate analyses of toponymic changes in space and not as exact urban models for different periods.
